Dr. Clarke Slemon, an organic chemistry postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, Canada, is a Canadian citizen with a Doctor of Philosophy in Organic Chemical Synthesis from Harvard University, USA. He completed his Bachelor of Science with a major in Chemistry at Carleton University, Canada.
He is an unusual chemical and pharmaceutical specialist with a broad and intensive experience that includes API process development, drug product formulation, stability studies, dissolution and bioequivalence studies, the CMC Section of ANDAs and patent/legal reviewing. He was a senior member of the Patent and Legal team at Ratiopharm that was unrivalled in the industry for chemical insight and strategic legal engagement from end-to-end in the process of getting generic market access. He is the inventor of 13 patent families related to chemical and pharmaceutical processes, a specialist in electronic database searching in chemical abstract databases and the author of the free blog-tutorial, Kilomentor.
Dr. Slemon’s love for science and technology was nurtured by his mentors, among whom was the notable Nobel laureate, the late Prof. R.B. Woodward, who was Dr. Slemon’s supervisor during his doctoral research studies at Harvard. Prof. Woodward, considered by many to be the pre-eminent organic chemist of the twentieth century, revolutionised the fields of structural determination, organic synthesis and physical-organic chemistry.
Another of Dr. Clarke Slemon’s mentors was Prof. John ApSimon, Dr. Slemon’s supervisor during his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry studies at Carleton University in Canada. Prof ApSimon read his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry at the University of Liverpool, UK and has served as the Special Science Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Environment of Canada, as the Chair of the Ottawa Life Sciences Council, Canada, as the Special Advisor for Partnerships of Carleton University, Canada and is a Professor Emeritus of the University of Liverpool, UK.
The late Prof. Peter Yates was Dr. Slemon’s mentor and supervisor during his post doctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada. Prof. Yates gained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of London, UK and his Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from Yale University, USA. He was a Professor at Harvard, a Visiting Professor at Yale and Princeton University, and among other achievements won the Centennial Medal of the Government of Canada and was appointed Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, President of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry and Editor of the Canadian Journal of Chemistry.
Dr. Slemon’s mentors inspired him with passion for the far reaches of knowledge and the commitment to strive for the pinnacles of achievement, guiding him to success in his own career. Dr. Clarke Slemon is a Doctor Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chemical Engineers, Singapore; Royal Institute of Corporate Directors, Singapore; Royal Institute of Educators, Singapore; Royal Institute of English, Singapore; Royal Institute of Management, Singapore; Royal Institute of Nanotechnology, Singapore; Royal Institute of Scientists, Singapore; and Royal Institute of Researchers, Singapore. He is a Doctor Fellow of the Royal Institution International Advisory Council and an International Visiting Professorial Fellow.

FDr. Prof. Dr. Samuel Salvador is the First Chancellor of the Royal Institution Singapore and a Director of Royal Institution Pte Ltd, Singapore and its more than 260 constituent Royal Institutes.
He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in English and a minor in History at Northeastern Foundation College, Philippines, earned his Master degree in Business Education at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and completed his doctorate degree in Education specialising in Management and Planning at the Manuel L. Quezon University, Philippines.
From a humble classroom teacher, he became an outstanding professor at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), where he reached the highest office of acting President. As the Acting President of PUP, he successfully elevated the status of the university to a Comprehensive National University, pursuant to the provisions of presidential Proclamation Order No. 482. Malacañang declared the period from October 1, 2003 to October 31, 2004 as the Centenary of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and he established linkages with various universities in the USA, Singapore, South Korea and China. Because of his outstanding performance in the fields of education and business marketing, he was awarded training grants for observation studies in various universities in the USA, Singapore, Taiwan and China. He also attended seminars and workshops with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization in the Philippines. In pursuit of excellence, he has authored 20 books, published numerous articles and modules for the enhancement of knowledge and education of students and professionals, and organised more than 100 international, national and local conventions, seminars, workshops and training programs in the fields of education, business and financial management.
FDr. Prof. Dr. Salvador is the recipient of multiple distinguished awards, including the “Man of the Year” award from one of the leading authorities on the biographies of distinguished individuals worldwide, the American Biographical Institute, for his contributions to the Philippines’ economic, industrial and social development and his humanitarian services. Other prestigious awards include a special award conferred to him as consultant to the President of Anyang Institute of Technology, China and the Christian Cross awarded by the Philippine Christian Society. He serves as a Director of the Philippine Society for Distance Education, Inc., National President of the Philippine Teachers Association for Research of Principles; President of Global Cooperation Society – NCR Chapter; Director of the Universal Peace Movement – Philippine Chapter, and is a Knight Commander of the Knights of Rizal Noli Me Tangere Chapter of Rizal. He has been a Member of the Technical Panel of the Commission on Higher Education since 2001, serving on the Technical Committee of Reviewers on Open Learning and Transnational and Distance Education. He was proclaimed a Research Fellow of the American Biographical Institute for his contributions to the global research conducted by the institute.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution International Advisory Council (RIIAC) and was appointed the first International Visiting Professorial Fellow of the Royal Institution Singapore. He is the most active Fellow of the RIIAC, selflessly sharing his knowledge and expertise, providing advice, encouragement and support for all Royal Institution events, and promoting the Royal Institution and its Constituent Members to colleagues, business associates, friends and other professional networks. He is an Honorary Fellow and Doctor Fellow of the Royal Institution, Singapore and Doctor Fellow of the Royal Institute of Educators, Singapore; Royal Institute of English, Singapore; Royal Institute of Management, Singapore; Royal Institute of Marketing, Singapore; Royal Institute of Strategic Business, Singapore; Royal Institute of Strategic Marketing, Singapore; Royal Institute of Writers, Singapore and Royal Institute of Authors, Singapore.
