As mentioned by Dr. Athena Georgene Ang, RI Singapore President, in her Opening Address, the event was in response to the felt need of local and international Graduate students, as well as, those who have recently graduated from their Masters and Doctoral degrees, who   were in search of an international forum for the purpose of sharing their research findings and discoveries. It was also held in consonance with the RI’s Mission and Vision, in providing opportunities for the pursuit of excellence through the enhancement of the research skills, among others, of RI members and would be RI members, besides being an avenue for the exchange of ideas, collaboration, and networking among scholars.

Presenters shared the results of their research findings to local and foreign participants who graced the occasion. Miss Bianca P. Borlagdan was adjudged as the Best Presenter, during the morning session, with her research entitled “An Interactive Computer Learning Environment (ICLE) for Tropical Succulents.”  Dr. Hilda San Gabriel, on the other hand, was adjudged as the best presenter during the afternoon session with her research entitled “The Theory and PRAXIS of Workers Cooperatives as Models of the Social Economy and Paradigm For Capital Innovation.”  Miss Borlagdan and Dr. San Gabriel received their respective awards and citations from Dr. Athena Georgene Ang, RI Singapore President; and, Dr. Helen Molano, RI Philippines President.

An Open Forum ensued after the presentations where the Indonesian participants shared their own experiences on certain issues raised during the said open forum. This was followed by the distribution of Certificates of Participation and Certificates of Appreciation to the presenters and participants.

Closing remarks was given by RI Singapore’s VP for Continuing Professional Development, Dr. Glenn Cabacang, where he thanked everybody who attended the event. 

The event ended with both presenters and participants visiting the Royal Institution Singapore Centre located at the G/F Legaspi Towers 300, P. Ocampo Street corner Roxas Boulevard, Malate, Manila, donning the Royal Institution Robes for a photo.
