Membership

Qualifications

  1. Membership is by invitation and/or nomination.
  2. Individual Membership is open to qualified or approved persons of any nationality.
  3. Individual Membership is divided into nine classes/ grades namely: Honorary Fellow Member, Senior Fellow Member, Fellow Member (Life), Fellow Member (Retired), Fellow Member, Senior Member, Member, Associate Member and Associate.
  4. Corporate Membership is open to companies of any country.
  5. Corporate Membership is divided into Corporate Fellow Member (Training), Corporate Fellow Member (Academic) and Corporate Fellow Member (Professional).
  6. Members of the Royal Institute are authorized to use the designatory letters corresponding to their grade of membership.

Individual Membership is open to suitably qualified or approved persons of any nationality;

Grades

Honorary Fellow Members

Honorary Fellow Members shall be distinguished and eminent persons whose membership shall in the opinion of the Senior Council add prestige to the advancement of the objectives of the Institute. Honorary Fellow Memberships shall only be conferred by the Senior Council.

Senior Fellow Members

Senior Fellow Members shall be persons of very senior positions whose membership shall in the opinion of the Senior Council add prestige to the advancement of the objectives of the Royal Institute. Senior Fellow Memberships shall only be conferred by the Senior Council.

Life Fellow Members

Life Fellow Members shall be persons who have reached the age of 60 and whose memberships shall in the opinion of the Senior Council add prestige to the advancement of the objectives of the Royal Institute.

Retired Fellow Members

Retired Fellow Members shall be persons who have reached the age of 60 and are not practicing their profession and whose memberships shall in the opinion of the Senior Council add prestige to the advancement of the objectives of the Royal Institute.

Fellow Members

Fellow Members shall be persons:

  • who are at least 30 years of age;
  • who have passed the prescribed Fellowship Examination, or who have an accredited Masters degree or its equivalent; or
  • who have at least 10 years of approved relevant experience and have been engaged for at least five (5) years in a senior position of responsibility; and have satisfied the Membership Committee that they are worthy of election as Fellow Members.

Senior Members

Senior Members shall be persons:

  • who are at least 27 years of age;
  • who have passed the prescribed Membership Examination, or who have an accredited Bachelor degree or its equivalent; or
  • who have at least 8 years of approved relevant experience and have been  engaged for at least four (4) years in a senior position of responsibility; and have satisfied the Membership Committee that they are worthy of election as Senior Members.

Members

Members shall be persons:

  • who are at least 23 years of age;
  • who have passed the prescribed Membership Examination, or who have an accredited First degree or its equivalent; or
  • who have at least 6 years of approved relevant experience and have been engaged for at least three (3) years in a position of responsibility at middle managerial level; and have satisfied the Membership Committee that they are worthy of election as Members.

Associate Members

Associate Members shall be persons:

  • who are at least 19 years of age;
  • who have passed the prescribed Associate Membership Examination, or who have an accredited Diploma or its equivalent; or
  • who have at least 3 years of approved relevant experience and have been engaged for at least one (1) year in a position of responsibility at supervisory/ technical level; and have satisfied the Membership Committee that they are worthy of election as Associate Members.

Associates

Associates shall be persons:

  • who are undergoing an accredited course of study, or persons of equivalent   standing;
  • who have satisfied the Membership Committee that they are worthy of election as Associates.

Corporate Fellow

  • company/organization which have interest or are engaged in any kind of Profession;
  • company/organization which have interest or are engaged in promoting, developing or benefiting from any kind of Profession;
  • company/organization which satisfied the Membership Committee that they are worthy of election as Corporate Fellows.  

*Membership does not entitle the person or company to any rights in the Company.
