Governing Councils
Royal Institution is guided and directed by a Governing Council which comprises:
Board of Directoras
Directors are elected by the shareholders of the Royal Institution.
Senior Advisory Council
Fellows of Senior Advisory Council comprise of senior and prominent academics, professionals
and/or achievers nominated and appointed by the Board of Directors, to share their
knowledge and expertise by providing professional advice and guidance from time
to time, contributing ideas and suggestions on value added development activities
and projects for the benefit of the Royal Institution and its Constituent Members
of Royal Institutes.
Patrons
Patrons are highly prominent people invited by Royal Institution to add prestige
to the Royal Institution and its constituent members and to provide advice and guidance
at high level and contribute to the advancement of the objectives of the Royal Institution.
International Advisory Council
Fellows of the International Advisory Council comprise prominent academics, professionals
and/or achievers nominated and appointed by the Board of Directors, to share their
knowledge and expertise with respective Constituent Members by providing professional
advice and guidance from time to time, contributing ideas and suggestions on value
added development activities and projects for the benefit of the Constituent Members
and its members; contributing reference materials or research works that are relevant
to the Royal Institute’s objectives; and promoting the Royal Institution and
its Constituent Members to colleagues, business associates, friends and other associated
professional networks.
The Honorary Officers
The Honorary Board comprises the following:
Honorary President

Honorary Treasurer
(1)
Honorary Secretary
(1 or more)
Qualifications
Honorary Officers shall have the following good qualities:
Honesty, integrity, highly ethical, selfless dedication, good reputation, willing
to share his/her knowledge and skills, well-qualified academically and/or professionally,
excellent management, leadership, administration, operation and/or communication
skills, good track record in education, research and development, business, profession
and/or achievement.
Appointment
Honorary Officers are appointed by the Royal Institution on behalf of the respective
Constituent Royal Institutes.
General Roles and Responsibilities
1. Honorary Officers shall act in an honorary capacity as advisors
and mentors to respective officers of the executive committee appointed by the Royal
Institution on behalf of the respective Constituent Members from time to time.
2. These very prestigious positions are offered only to very prominent
academics, professionals and/or achievers who can represent the respective Constituent
Members in their respective capacities at any functions and meetings with any private
and government organizations and the public.
3. Honorary Officers shall render their services/advices to the
best of their ability and/or attend any meetings or functions at their own discretion
without affecting their current employment/business and participation shall be on
a voluntary basis.
4. The Honorary Officers may also hold executive positions in
executive committees of the Constituent Members. Such executive positions shall
be by appointment by the Royal Institution on behalf of the respective Constituent
Members.
